I am not going to take credit for "designing" a mold but after quite a few conversations with Tom, this is what he/I came up with.Attachment 279065 It is for my 45 Colt S&W 25-5 4" and so far it is a toss up whether my gun "likes" it or not. Make no mistake, he did the designing, I just told him what I was wanting, I like big flat (Veral
Smith) type meplates and Tom worked his magic. It is a 45-253M. BTW, that's not a hollow point. The camera just caught it with that shadow.
IT AINT what ya shoot--its how ya shoot it. NONE of us are as smart as ALL of us!

Considered asking him about a .41 gas checked design with a "hollow point" channel about .39 in diameter. Imagine a SWC with a very large nose and very large hollow point. Something approximating a "Webley Manstopper" in .41 caliber.

Instead though, right now I'm gonna see if I can make the old Lyman #41027 HBWC work loaded backwards. Tell you what though, that mold is such a pain to get to fill out well when casting that I'm tempted to have the grease grooves reduced in depth along with making the nose button into a gas check base. And maybe I could partially run the hollow base into a .406 or .408 diameter sizer so it could extent up into the chamber throats.
