    Small Primer 30-06

Today as i was setting up a batch of hxp spent brass i went to primer one of them and found it to be multi level, in the fact that for about the first 1/10 of an inch a large primer would fit, then under that it's like it could only accept a small primer. My larger reamer wont fit. I believe it was from 67. Anyone else come in contact with something of this nature?

One of the most endearing sights in the world is the vision of a naked good-looking woman leaving the bedroom to make breakfast. Bolivar Shagnasty (I believe that Lazarus Long also said it, but I can't find any record of it.)

Could it be a primer separation kind of like a case head separation? Never seen one before but that is the only thing I could think of.

I think you just broke a primer off when de-priming.
I have had this happen before.
I have pushed just the top part of a primer off before too.
I tried to drill a couple out with a primer pocket uniforming tool and just gave up on that.

I have had luck using a twist drill the lock into and pull the separated piece of the primer out of the pocket.

I usually just chunk them. Brass is cheap.

They'll sure muck up the works on a progressive press.
