    pretty good deal

not my cup of tea but the grandsons will need deer rifles soon. Went by the buddys gunshop today and he had a like new howa bolt 243 with a lightweight 20 inch barrel, glass stock and a cheap 3x9 bushnell on it. Walked out with it for $250 so one down 3 more to go.

    Those are actually nice guns...

I've got a Weatherby Vanguard (a Howa 1500 in drag) in .223 that shoots 1/2 MOA. Liked it so much I had a gunsmith rechamber it to .223 AI. (Gotta be different, ya know. )

The Howa 1500's shoot VERY well. I've had 3--one in 338 Win Mag was the most accurate rifle in that caliber I've ever fired. A 243 standard taper barrel shot j-words quite well, but left before I tried castings in that caliber. Lastly, a heavy-barrelled 22-250 would do 3/4" groups at 100 yards all day long. All 3 were box-stock. No, you could do far worse than get a Howa 1500--for self or kids.
I don't paint bullets. I like Black Rifle Coffee. Sacred cows are always fair game. California is to the United States what Syria is to Russia and North Korea is to China/South Korea/Japan--a Hermit Kingdom detached from the real world and led by delusional maniacs, an economic and social basket case sustained by "foreign" aid so as to not lose military bases.
