    Broken sharpshooter mold.

I was using a 4 buck mold for the second time, and on my second pot the mold became very difficult to open, eventually braking near the hing pin on the mold half that is in the center of the hing pin. This mold had the steel pin, my newer molds have the brass pin and seem to open much easier. Has there been a problem with the steel pins and binding of the molds? 10tenner

Why not send them an email and ask them about it? Seem like good folks to me.

I did send them a email, wanted to know if someone else has had the same issue with the steel pins binding. 10Tenner

seems to me like steel VS aluminum would eventually gall creating a lot of friction/resistance. I could be wrong. My SS molds have brass hinge pins

I've got a couple of the sharpshooter buckshot molds with steel pins (bought a couple years ago). Synthetic 2-cycle oil is what I use on the pin and if you put a little bit of it on often enough to keep it penetrated down into the hinge point it works and continues to keep working over time.

Here is the email from RICK.
Yes. Steel and aluminum are non compatible over time. What is your address? We will get another out to you.
    Thanks
