In our 12ga tests the VV110 was close to and operated like 4759.
Just don't let it get real, real cold. It is better in the cold than 4227,
which is why I stopped using 4227.

Using 4744 for compressed wad/sabot/shotcup loads for slugs is NOT safe,
by any means of measuring, and can damage the heaviest of guns
if larger amounts are in use. If slugs are loaded down at safe levels
with small amounts, might as well use other stuff that has none of
    the same pressure spiking problems..Ed

Gotta a good laugh at some of the silly nonsense that gets posted about
    various manufacturers.

FYI, Powder Valley has 4759 as of now if you are interested. I just ordered 32 lbs. Get it while you can!

At the moment I use 7625 for lower pressure 10 , 12 , 16 and 20 gauge loads looks as if Hogdons Universal Clays , Aliants Unique and possibly Green Dot might be decent replacements . But that's just what I'm seeing from the variousr load tables .

Well that kinda bites! I was hoping to get some 4759 because I happened into a pile of 100 gr .277 bullets last week and thought that would be a fun powder and bullet combo to load for Miss K and I to play with. Dang it! I guess I'll have to look into 2400 or something similar, or a full powder load, but I hate to do that because it takes so much powder for those lighter bullets.

Rats! Just my luck, I'd buy stock in air the week people decide to stop breathing!

Just added another 8 lbs today. Came by FedEx through the snow and cold weather. Took an extra week but it finally made it.

Man, that does suck. I don't even USE any of those powders - I don't have any current applications for them, and maybe never will.... but.... I've seen some of those powders listed in so many loads, particularly "special applications" (like low pressure loads for shotguns, for example), that it does seem like a loss for us as a shooting / reloading community. Seems like these powders filled some unique roles that may be hard to fill with something else.......

I went and picked up for a friends gunshop at one of our distributers last thursday . I was able to get an 8 pounder of SR7625 for myself .

Looks as if I'll be going back in 4-6 weeks . And if I'm lucky I'll try and score another SR7625 8 pounder for myself and that oughtta handle a very large portion of my shotgun loading for several years .

Not long ago I got some SR 4756 of 8 lbs of it so i am set now that is not counting the about 2 lbs more i had. When i first hear about it and seen that it was not a fake I got the 8lbs. also I was at one shop and they told me that they did not had that powder for about 10 years now so.I ask them how come it is still in the reloading handbook. They said it was not up dated. Well I got what I wanted and I am set now. Like on some other powders .

4756 will work for lower pressure loads in the 16 and 20 I believe as I've used it some and still have a couple pounds . I just went to 7625 because of my Short 10 loads . And it pretty much covers everything I wanna do with every gauge except perhaps the 410 . But I keep H110 or 296 for that one .
