Chalk another up to the 429421

    8pt 13 1/2" inside, 40yds quartering away
    Shot #1 - a little hop wasn't sure if I connected
Shot #2 - No doubt - a little stagger and drop.
Ended up with 2 holes about an inch apart right at
the back of the ribs driving into the off shoulder - no exits
    21gr 2400 Anaconda 8"

I think I'll step my load back up to 22gr though.

    Thanks Elmer

Great shooting! I'm surprised at the 'no exit' if you find out if you struck
a large bone or similar, please post so we all can learn.

Thanks, and congratulations! I thank Elmer a lot, too!

Congrats. Always good to see another user of Elmers masterpiece score. 429421 has been very good to me in the meat department. I am amazed at the accuracy over a wide velocity range. I have had good results on whitetails with 18.5 grns of 2400 and 22 grns of IMR 4227. Big hole in bog hole out. Meat.

Ditto. I've never recovered a 429421 from a deer. I'd very much like to see some pics of the boolits and wound channel if you can post them.

More importantly congrats! I hope he's fine eating.

No pics gave it to a freind - but each hit a dif. rib on entry and all I could feel was one
exit into the off side shoulder which is where I figure both slugs went.
Both entrys were nice round cut holes and the exit from the chest cavity was
about 75 cal in size as near as I could feel - I felt all around the inside of the cavity and could find no other exit, I think they ended up in the same place - I asked if he was gonna buther himself because I would like the slugs back but alas he is takin him in to be cut up.
I was also surprised with no exit but they must have both come to rest in the roast.
Big enough deer at a guesstamated 180 dressed.

750K2--Based on my experience of this year,I guess the only way a person can really know what happened to the spent boolit is to do the butchering yourself. Last week I had posted that my .44 Devastator had "passed on thru" because I saw the exit hole as I gutted the deer. Upon butchering, 6 days later, I discovered the 219g remnant in the off shoulder near the scapula. Mushroomed real nice. Evidently a portion of the hp nose that weighed only about 50g had "passed on thru".--Shuz

I am surprised that the bullets didn't make it all the way through the deer. I have never recovered a Keith (23.0-24.0 grs of H110 or equivalent) from a deer. That's including a couple shot full length. Of course, mine didn't hit a heavy shoulder bone, either.

    Congratulations!

The no pass through totally surprised me also - I rolled him over 3 or 4 times lookin for exits - Nothin. Straight WW and at about 1300ish as near as I can figure with the
    prior chrono data I had.
I guess it is results that matter in the end and he was squirtin out the side good enough to see 50yds away - both lungs and liver were toast but the heart was intact - Boy I sure love the cookie cutter holes it puts in them.
