    44 mag velocity!

    WOW!

I have developed a load for Fatnhappy's 429640 273gr bullets he sent me.

Sized em to .430, some hodge podge of lube mixed in the sizer, I think it's primarily Speed Green about now, GC'd and 21gr of W296. NNY brass 3rd reloading.

I'm shooting this out of my 10" contender.

Now this is the amazing part!

    1370 fps!

Primers are not flat, no signs of too much pressure. I like it!

Blammer, thats plenty of power, but get used to it with cast in a .44 Contender. 18.5 grains of H-110 with the Lee flat nose gas check bullet, which weigh 315 grains out of wheelweights, and lubed with LBT Blue Soft lube averaged 1,325 fps. out of my 10 " Contender. They averaged .8" at 50 yards too. Cast in a .44 Contender is a whole different world than my revolvers.

I think I'm gonna have to dial in the zero on this pistol for this load and take it deer hunting!

Usually when shooting for groups and testing loads I don't care where it hits on the paper as long as they are in a small group together!

I'm thinking 3 inches high at 25 will put me good out to 150 yds, Max Point Blank range.

    Smile

That's about what I get with my Lee 429-255-F cast of soft scrap at ~273 grains, over 19 grains of my pulldown WC820.
