I started with a eastern arms 410 single shot shotgun when I was 10 or so. It had been in the family for many years, my Dad learned with it also. I think everyone in the family and several niegbors learned with that old shotgun. We still have it and it still gets used alot for pests and such. Im looking forward to teaching the grandson to shoot and hunt with it.

My first was a Stevens rolling block .22 with an octagon bbl. Which my mother taught me how to shoot. Sure wish I knew what happened to that gun.

Mine was a single shot Winchester .22 model 67. A nice little rifle for a new shooter, too bad I don't have it any more.

Showing my age here. My first gun, that I purchased myself in the 1950s, was at the time an old Remington No. 2 Rolling Block, .32-20 Win. with a 28"octagon barrel and a tang sight for $25.00. Barrel was pretty much worn out but I "handloaded".32-20 cases with sized O buckshot and a small amount of fast pistol powder. It shot great! Many a small game fell to that rifle. I really wore it out, but sure wish I still had it.

J C Higgins bolt action single shot .22. Bet I shot several pickup loads of those long eared Montana jacks to haul into the Pacific Hide and Fur.
Still have it. Just got new Grandson that carries my handle. Think I see where it will get a new home someday.

My grandfather gave me a single shot 410 for my 9th birthday. $8.00 from a pawn shop. The only words on it are "Pioneer."
I killed lots and lots of squirrels and rabbits with it. Of course we ate all of them back then. Meat was meat!

Mine was a Winchester 67 also. Taught my daughter to shoot it and with luck will teach my grandson this coming summer too, then give to him.

All the boys in my family all started out with the same Winchester 20 gauge full choke break action. Many pheasant, quail, rabbits, and squirrels did it pile up. It is now working it's way through another generation in the family.
The solid soft lead bullet is undoubtably the best and most satisfactory expanding bullet that has ever been designed. It invariably mushrooms perfectly, and never breaks up. With the metal base that is essential for velocities of 2000 f.s. and upwards to protect the naked base, these metal-based soft lead bullets are splendid.

Forget everything you know about loading jacketed bullets. This is a whole new ball game!

Likewise. Funny thing was, both my parents were anti-gun, but an Uncle gave this to me so long as we kept it hidden from my parents when not using it!! Imagine that. Just 8 years old and hiding that thing for 10 years from Mom and Dad.

Daisy pump BB Gun, Stevens Crack Shot .22, Excell 16 ga. shotgun. I still prefer the single shots 60 years and many others since, I still like 1 rounders. My last shotgun purchase was a 370 Winchester.
