Best bullet for .41 Mag Marlin

Hi guys.
As I posted in another thread, I'm getting ready to start casting bullets for my 1894 FG Marlin rifle.
What are the best bullets you guys have used,( as far as accuracy, and functionality)goes??
As per normal, I was late on the group buy for the 250 gr mold.

I have a pair of Marlin's in 41 MAG . I also have a copy of the present Lyman 41 cal mould which is a 210 grain GC design . I have however not gotten around to shooting any cast in either rifle yet .

But based on the 44 MAG as I do not like anything larger then 250 grains in the 44 .

I would think that optimum weight for the 41 would be about 225 grains , but that is just my opinion .

I'm sorting out the same issue now. So far I shot a 240 gr Lee boolet with half dollar accuracy at 50 yards, but with brisk lever action it would throw the round high and catch the top face of the chamber on the way in. I'm fixin to try some 210meister boolits I had on the shelf this weekend. These are BB and stomped for speed. We'll see. If it bugs me too much and I want to hunt it this year I'll probably go XTP and sort it out later.

I've used the Nosler 210 grain HP and the Hornady 210 grain XTP in my 1894FG with decent results .

My Marlin 41 maggie craves 413 sized boolits. It is the largest diameter I can feed as a full wadcutter turned from a copper rod. The freebore at 413 is exactly 0.20; at 412 it is 0.25. Those two figures will give you the leade-in angle in my gun. ... felix

I personally use the Lee 195 HP and Lyman 410426 HP. These drop out of my moulds around .411-.412. I am using them in a 1894FG, Ruger 6.5" BH and a 14" T/C. Mark

Like felix said, the throats on the Marlins tend to be a little on the large side. Therefore, bullets with long bearing surfaces and somewhat oversized diameters tend to shoot better. The best cast bullet load I've found for my Marlin 1894 .41 Magnum is the NEI #215F, a 260 grain GC-FP bullet, sized .412" over 19.0 grains of H110 for a little over 1500 fps. The RNFP ogive of this bullet cycles like a dream through the levergun and it groups well. One of these days, I'm gonna have to shoot something with this load.
