Need 8X57mm dies and a few cast boolits

I have a Turkish Mauser 1940 rebuild 8X57JS;of a 1893. I have brass, powder, primers, load books, and a 1986 Dillon 550B. I just don't have boolits. The boolits will help me know the bore also.So I can locate a sizer die for the SAECO. I broke the beam bar on my 5-10 RCBS Powder scale. I broke my Rockchucker too at the same time. Yes I know know about the lifetime replacement for the RockChucker, but I didn't know at the time I dropped it. Does anyone have a 5-10 Beam bar. I can afford to pay, just can't find equipment. Thanks for a direction or anything! Jules

Hi Jules! Slugging the bore will tell you exactly what size boolit and sizers you'll need to get going.

Don't forget that there's powder dippers available from Lee.

I have the right size fishing weights, but I can't find my brass rod. I might have to get a wooden dowel about 3/8" to hydraulic it through the bore.I'll have to strip the gun down to it's "bare necessities" to do that. Having rags around the action area won't keep the oil off the wood.

There are other ways of slugging a bore Jules:

The response from RCBS on broken Rockchucker ,and Broken beam on 5-10 scale
Jules, the 5-10's have been discontinued and we don't have beams for them. If you send in your broken 5-10 and $50.00, we will give you a new 5-0-5 scale. Our address is below, have a great day and enjoy your reloading.
The 5-10 wasn't the "cheapy" at that time.It was the best they made.

No response to the shattered casting of the RockchuckerPart that follows is my original question

I have a 5-10 Scale that came with my RCBS kit in the 80's. I have a Rockchucker set. Anyway as I am getting old I dropped the press, and had the scale in my other hand. As I tried to grab with the scale hand it hit the beam, and broke it into. The cast metal press shattered on the garage floor. I guess I need to ordered a new beam part and I will have to see what you say about a new press. So can I order a new beam from my RCBS 5-10 Scale?

Depending on how fast you want to push them you can try a few with out the gas checks, I shoot the LEE C309-180-R in my 30-06/30-30/300 win mag.

I do not have the info on powder and charges handy but I have used UNIQUE and some of the faster powders listed for jacketed bullets, they are pretty accurate and do not lead unless I try to push them to fast. Speeds are any where from about 1,000 FPS in the 30-30 to around 2,000 FPS or so in the 30-06 and 300 win mag, I never knew for sure the speeds just had to go by what the loading info listed it as, but now that I have a chronograph I can get around to testing them sometime and see what they actually are.

I have to rely on the load information for my feet per second too. I have a good load that uses 2400 as a powder for the 8mm. Unique is a good powder. Smaller amounts, very consistent, and in my gun cabinet!
