    'New' H&R m165 Leatherneck

Picked this one up earlier this week at a local shop. Very clean wood, metal, bore. Someone replaced the original receiver sight with this Weaver G4 scope, but the scope is nice and clear, should be a good shooter. Hopefully I'll get to the range in the next couple of days.
In addition to my milsurp rifle affliction, I have a small .22 rifle affliction.

I have a model 65, which is heavier than your "sporter" model. These are somewhat over engineered by today's standards for 22 cal. semi autos which needs to be clean and oiled but are also sweet shooters. This gun borrow a lot of design from the M50 .45 caliber Reising sub-machinegun.

    I have a "Leatherneck" also.
Question....is the bolt suppose to move so slow when cycling????
Mines functions fine, but it seems the bolt moves really slow.

My 65 bolt works slow also, again way more engineering than needed for a 22. Try using the lightest synthetic oil you can find to see if it will speed up. Also to lube the action guide rod that the recoil spring rides on. Take the stock off and lube anywhere you see parts that have rubbed the blueing off.

Yep, I noticed that too, really slow cycling. Almost like the old Stevens 'click clack' rifles. Took both of mine apart, cleaned and lubed.
smkummer, you're right about them being over engineered, there's lots of steel in those works!
Here's my other one, with it's original peep sight. A fabulous shooter.

I need to get one of these reising .22's.

The light synthetic oil is a good call, as is polishing the bolt and all the other reciprocating bits. At least, that made a big difference on my model 50.

Collecting .32 molds. Please let me know if you have one you don't need, cause I might "need" it!
