    Remington Model 8's

I have been asked to develop some cast deer loads for Remington M8's in 30 and 35 caliber. The prime requsite is that they not only be accurate, but that they work the actions. I am looking at the 31141 Lyman in the 30 with Reloader 7 or 748 and I think my 30-30 load should do the trick. I have never tried a full house load in the 35 so Ii am open to suggestion. If you have a favorite mould or load for either of these I would be interested.

The 35-220-Fp group buy mold, the RCBS 35-200-Fp or the Lyman 358315 are all good with IMR 4895. Just follow the book loadings and they function fine and are about 2 MOA groupers out of most of the 81s. I size at 0.359" myself.

I am using 31 gr. Win. 748 with the 311041 and get great accuracy. Other one best load is 30 gr. H-335 and same boolit.

30 grains of 748 is my 30 30 load and i thought I would start there with the 31141. That has made a good deer load in the past and hopefully i will drop one this year with the old M8. I did find something interesting and I am hoping this works. My M 8 has a 307 bore, so i am going to try a batch of 31141's that got sized to 309 by mistake. I hope Ii can use them all up here as the only other gun I have that they work in is a K31 and I don't hunt with that.

I ended up using the Lee 185 gr bullet for the 303 sized to 310 and pushed by 28 grains of 748. This groups right around 3" at 100 yards and expands well in water jugs. The 31141's i had ended up going for practice loads with 9.5 of Unique. The lube on them was not mine and it tended to lead at 2000+. Now I need to do something with the sights on the M8. Mine has a silver bead much dented and a very fine rear v notch.
