Do a GOOGLE search. There are some references but I don't want to misquote them.

Thanks for the reply, but know I did a google search. I also emailed, called, and spoke with someone at st marks. all prior to making this post.
I've got some idea as to what each are, but wanted to ask here as well. I was hoping to find someone who has firsthand knowledge, not google knowledge.
Oh, and the guy at st marks didn't give me any info.
No, they won't because of their target market for those batch numbers prolly declined upon inspection. Legal reasons. However, trash for one is gold for another. Once you find out, please report your findings here about approximate applications and quantity found. ... felix

Here was what I was able to find. Hodgdon shows those numbers OBP244 ad OBP248 on a Material Safety Data Sheet (MSDS) dated September 2011 but does not reference what powders they are packaged and sold as. The Hodgdon website does show them under the Smokeless OEM powders in the MSDS list. On a seperate MSDS sheet dated April 2009 shows OBP242 as Tightgroup, OBP132 as Titewad. Hope that helps give you an idea.

Under General Dynamics who owns St Marks Powder (SMP) there is a 1998 dated Military ball powder burn rate chart in PDF form.

Thanks Mario! That's the same I found- 242 = tight group. C1700 looks like western ramshot TAC. I wasnt able to find anything on 248...

I wish I was able to find more on those powders. Hodgdons Superformance, LEVERevolution, and CFE223 sprouted somewhere around the same time that the MSDS sheets showed the OBP244 and 248. Makes one wonder if they are the same.

I’m bumping this up as I have found some OBP 244 and I’m interested in it if I can find some sort of similarity to a commercial powder. The container label say use tightgroup data. Google says it’s similar to win autocomp.
Anyone have an idea on this powder?
