Question ??? about measuring a barrel slug ??

This may be a simple question and perhaps I haven't had enough Coffee yet, but here goes.
Lets say you slug your barrel and the slug reads .4295, Well that sounds about right to me for a 44 Mag--- If the barrel had a restriction or thread choke wouldn't the slug wind up reading the smallest measurement ?? That is, if it went down the whole barrel and was picking up .4295 and then hit a tite spot near the forcing cone, wouldn't the slug register the smallest number. If the choke was .002 shouldn't the slug drop out showing .4275
Why does this small crappp always mess me up, seems basic logic should prevail.

The slug will reflect the tightest portion of the barrel.

If you think you have a tight spot. Slug half way down in each direction and compare.
It is hard to fail, but it is worse never to have tried to succeed.

I understand where you are comming from. Guys are always saying you need to slug the barrel, throat and cylinders and cast to fit. Well unless you are going to have the cylinders or throat reamed if its tighter then the barrel then only the tightes spot matters.
