looking for a mold for my CZ550 in 308

Well I found a set of dies for my 308 and loaded up a test round hopeing my lyman 311291 would fit. No luck this time the chamber is really tight. I dont think i should try seating the gas check below the neck so I was wondering if anybody has molds that work well for them. I like to shoot bore riders but so far the chamber look like they wont fit well.

For .308 I would suggest you give the lee 160 grain RN a shot. It has worked very well for me in my 30/06 and it has a really tight chamber and throat. I shoot it at around 1650 using fairly soft alloy 50/50 pure and ww lubed with recluse's tumble lube.

I have never done it, but "They" seat gas check bullets below the neck frequently.

I have heard the "reports" of somebody's brother-in-law's, cousin's, girlfriend's, father's, younger brother blowing up a rifle. I have never seen a report of somebody saying "I did it" or "I saw it."

As I said, I have never done it but that is because I don't load for anything with a short neck.

I just know that "They" do it.

311299 from NOE if you can find one. PM Mihec for one of his 180gr 30cal SIL molds. This one is the one I would get.

RCBS 165 SIL or 200 SIL. I have had good luck with the 200.
