New RCBS Summit Single Stage Press - Weird Look and Operation!!

Any of you guys got this new RCBS press?

Looking at the RCBS website, it looks like a Hollywood or some old style presses. Linkage is weird looking and unconventional! Even the press handle is moved upward rather than downward.

    Features : (from RCBS website)

"For reloaders who need to quickly crank out precision rounds, the new RCBS® Summit Single Stage Reloading Press is the perfect tool for the job. Unlike other presses, it operates on top of the bench; the case does not move, the reloading die comes down to the case. Its all-steel linkage and cast iron frame provide the stability and ruggedness all reloaders need. The ambidextrous design allows unprecedented access to your cases, and you can quickly change dies. Made in the USA."

    Features & Benefits
    • Bench-top operation
    • Ambidextrous handle operation with compound leverage
    • Massive 2-inch diameter ram
    • Full frontal access
    • Accepts bushings for 1-inch die bodies
    • Press adapter bushing
    • Zerk fitting for lubrication
    • Spent primer catcher
    • 4.50-inch operating window for convenient access

Must be something about this new press that RCBS thinks reloaders will like.

    Anyone has this press already?

Hard to find any information other than RCBS site. I wonder why they stopped at 1" die bodies with a 2" diameter ram? I wish it would take 1-1/2" die bodies and little taller. I wish someone had more information on this press.

Hey Pressman or any others, is there a similar press ever made?

    take care,

I couldn't get the picture to come up on their site. I'll have to inspect one of these at the SHOT Show in two weeks. I'm sure they'll have one in their booth at the show.

Looks like a Wamadet, I've got a couple, fine presses like the system.

It looks familiar like an old lubrisizer or something. I wish some of the historian equipment guys would chime in.

    Take care

Looks like a complex (expensive) to build "C" press to me.

With 4.5" of stroke is that enough to load 50 BMG? That's about all I can think of. The press is about 50% more than a Rock Chucker. Looks like a hefty press but I don't see the advantage to throw away your Rock Chucker and rush out and buy one. It looks like you would almost need to be standing up to use the press. With the handle in the up position the knob on the handle looks to be 24-30 inches above the top of the bench.
