    Another terminal ballistics test

Yesterday I did another terminal ballistics test of two calibers, 223 and 258 into wet phone books with an 1/8" piece of plywood veneer about 1 inch in to simulate a clipped rib. The distance from the muzzle was as always, 40 yards.
223 - 53 gr Lee Bator soupcan with MV of 1850 fps. Result from two examples: 10-1/2" of penetration with no mushrooming or loss other than separated gas check. Entry was explosive almost 2" across.
258 - 100 gr Lyman 418 spire point with MV of 1750 fps. Result from two examples: Fully expanded boolit (to 1/2" diam) penetrated almost 11". Unexpanded boolit penetrated over 14" after tumbling.
I do have pictures but so far have not had any luck posting them from my iMac. Don't know what I am doing wrong.
The only surprise with this test was the depth of penetration of the 223 after the explosive entry. My lead alloy is hard but not that hard (60% pure, 35% hard magnum lead bird shot, and 5% tin).
Hope some of you find this useful.

Copy is press command key and the c key at the same time.
Paste is press the command key and v at the same time.

I have had a mac for 2 years and really don't like the functionality.
    At one with the gun.
