Got a new mould yesterday from charger. Drops at 191 from lino type w/ gascheck. I water dropped these and I'll tell you want, it was pain to size them even with a lee push through. I plan on loading these sub-sonic in my AR-15.

That sounds like an interesting project. I'd bet they would be very accurate!! Art
Wow.
Let me know how they work...I am very very interested in that mold. I just built a .300 Whisper on a Remington 700 action and a Form 1 can to go with it.
a link here to look at...

I am shooting subsonic 220 Sierra Match BTHP at 1015 Fps.
That bullet looks great.
so not fair. they don't yet allow cans in Michigan. There is talk of changing the laws, I'd definitely get one.
I'm not sure lee offers this particular mould anymore, I looked through their product line and didn't find it.

That looks like a discontinued NEI mold to me. At sub-sonic velocities air cooling should make a more accurate round.
my main concern was leading of the gas system. with 14 gr of H4227 there we no signs, that load was probably ripping at about 1800fps. I'm gonna try air cooling and see how that works.

10gr of H4227 is still a hair fast with 220SMK, but very accurate. H110 works good sub-sonic, may need to clip the recoil spring to make it function (after the right load is found).
I know this is an old thread but RD i have a 300 whisper on AR platform , ran across this thread and was wondering how did it work, I was looking into casting for the 300 but all the molds I see are either RN/FN this looks like the perfect one, How did it do for you??? thanks for any input
I've been trying the Lyman 311644 in the 30/06 . It goes 193gr in wheelweight. It might be a good bullet in the Whisper.Quite tapered to fit the 308 throat. I've driven it quite fast and no leading with wheelweights. I'd love to have a Whisper but no cans allowed in Canada. Will follow your tests. Really looks like a fun cartridge. Mel
I'm out of the whisper game, but I still will help people who need info. The silhoute mould post right above this post did work excellent in my upper. Played with it a little before I sold the upper. The lee 170 FN worked most of the time, failure to feed about 5%, due to the flat nose getting stuck.
I shoot a suppressed 300 whisper and a supressed 45 caliber, both single shots. The 300 I use aa 1680 and I'm getting a 250 grain boolit from Veral for it. The 45 I use unique and shoot 550 grain lead boolits from a Mountain Molds mold...that's an impressive thumper.
rd what/who was the maker of the mold above? are they still available??
also shooter93 what does the 250gr boolit look like?performance? veral???
