    "hardest" small rifle primer?

I just got a Ruger SRH .454 and want to do some reliability testing.

anyone know who makes the hardest-to-set-off SR primers?

    I was thinking CCI#41 or remington 7 1/2's

I haven't tried all that are available, but CCI450's are the toughest I've used.

well then I can only imagine the #41's are just a bit harder still, they are basically a 450 with more distance between the anvil tip and the cup.

ill give 100 of those a go, thanks!

Wolf or Tula 223s are made with a harder cup for use in military rifles. They are a bit hotter as well. If you can find them locally they might be worth a try.

I agree on the Wolf primers being hard. I 5000 of them recently for my AR's and they certainly are a harder cup. Great primers and great price from wideners.

CCI nato primers are harder than normal and as hard as the wolf or tula.

are Rem 7 1/2 primers really hard/low sensitivity?
I have had quite a few FTF's with them and the Wolff 12lb spring I installed, CCI 450s have worked great.

Here is a link to some information on primers regarding pressure and cup thickness:

Tula or Wolf have really hard cups. Price is very good as well.
