25-35 suggested mold?

Hello everyone, I have learned so much from you guys already.
This is my first post here and I am new to casting. I am only recently entering stage two of my casting plan. In 2010 I decided, I want to do this. So, I have been doing what everyone does, seek out sources of free lead. I have put together 2,000lbs of CWW and 600lbs of TWW. Thru this site I JUST learned tin is something I need to start focusing on also.
I am an arborist by trade. I absolutely love the posts about keels and large solid chunks of lead. I pray to find even one big chunk one day. I assure you, a chainsaw will make a kerf in lead and with chainsaws that have bars ranging from 12-60" in length at my disposal along with bobcats, dingos, front loaders, backhoes and a 20 ton crane at my disposal I almost foam at the mouth at the opportunity to make a multi thousand lb keel dissapear in very short order. It would be a fun break from dealing with wood all the time.
Ahh, it just hit me. I would be more than happy to hook yall up with sawdust. Reality is I have the resources its the time I am short on. In either case, if you want sawdust, shoot me a pm with all the shipping info. We dismantle hundreds of cords a year in firewood at the yard each year. I will try to make a point of gatherin some of the chips up in case there are any takers. Perfect chore for my 4 yr old, which fortunately at this point he will think is fun. LOL
Anyhow, its very nice to meet you all and let me say that if I can retain 25% of what I am exposed to here from you guys, I am way ahead of the game and I appreciate you.
25-35. I have an origional that I simply love deer huntingwith, iron sights n all. Any suggestions on a mold because I simply cant find a 117gr flat nose mold.

As long as you want a flat nose your best bet is to contact Accurate Molds. Tom will design one with your input and you will have a beautiful work of art typically within a week. You really can't beat that service with a stick! That's assuming he doesn't already have what you want in his catalog.

No need to work too hard for the tin. If you can't find a bunch of 60/40 solder at estate sales cheap, you can run down to Walmart to find lead-free splitshot fishing sinkers (100% tin). One package of size 4 tin splitshot is enough tin for about 5 pounds of lead which will make over 300 - 25. cal boolits.

I let a 257306 115gr. GC slip through my hands the other day on eBay. My measly 60.00 bid didn't get it. But, dang, you can only bid so much on a single cavity mold. Thinking about letting Veral Smith make me a double. Also, according to Accurate Molds website, .30 cal is the smallest they have the tooling to do.

I have an RCBS 25-100 gr. flat nose gas check mold, double cavity. It casts nice boolits that weigh 105 to 106 gr out of #2 alloy. I personally want something in the 117 to 120 gr range to use for deer hunting but have not found anything yet with a flat nose which I think is important for hunting. My little 100 grainers are excellent plinking and small game boolits tho. The 25-35 is a fun cartridge to play with, you will enjoy it.JW

Thank you much guys. I will look into Accurate Molds Wayne.
I plan on casting for additional income. Just 3 calibers-.45 230gr RN, .40 175gr TC and 9mm 124gr RN.
I origionally started hording lead to eventually run through a shot making machine to support my skeet shooting habit. But after doing some math 25 lbs of shot $45 vs selling 1,000 boolits for $100 or more is an easy choice.
Heck, didnt think about it till now but after selling my first 5,000 boolits that would make enough to buy the shot making machine too.

As Kent stated, unfortunately Accurate doesn't cut anything smaller than 30 caliber. You'll have to find another maker.

I've had an NEI 114 grain FNGC mould (#21) for about 15 years. It is still featured on the company's website. I caution that reports of uneven quality have surfaced concerning NEI's products since Mr. Melander passed away, but my one mould purchased there since his passing is excellent. FYI.

I had one of the last real '94s and it was in 25/35, had some very fast twist, like 1-8 or so and could not get it to shoot cast, so I traded it.

The original Winchester 25-35 barrels DO have a 1-8" twist; mine does. Like the 6.5 x 55 Swedes with fast-twists, accuracy holds to about 1600 FPS, then goes south with castings when that speed gets exceeded. NO, I don't want to re-start the RPM discourse, and not all fast twist barrels and their operators have this issue.......but this has been my experience, and that of others. Jackrabbits aren't particular about velocity of bullets used to strafe them, and I wouldn't chance a deer shot with small-caliber castings going that slow, even if soft-pointed. Hornady RNs at 2300 FPS get the nod for that sort of work.
