    700 and 465

Look what showed up today from Tommy Kelly:

And what I cast this morning; they have 45/45/10 on them but I'll lube and size and load late nigh (these weight in at 465 after lube and size. . . Andy took the the pic and he's a bit shaky today):

Couple a old battle rifles and one of those "restricted" LE6920s just for kicks, as Andy wanted to take a pic of them :

I will load those 700 grainers up with a "Come-to-Jesus" dose of WC820 and 'chrono' them. Will report. Maybe

The LE6920's for sale at wally world are not marked restricted law enforcement only. They do have the LE prefix before the serial number and are made by colt defense. $1097.00 before taxes. Wonder what they will be selling for at the gun shows now that obama has made it clear that if and when he gets re-elected he will persue a new awb and handgun restrictions. Frank

I bought a Colt because I wanted a Colt. I paid $1,100 for it OTD, 3 or 4 years back. I like it.

Then again, I have one (an M4gery) that I built that costs more than your "armalite".

But I always end up shooting the Colt. . . odd. I'll have to change that, eh. . . I never thought about going by price. . . Hm.

As for recoil impulse. Try running the numbers on 465 grains using 37.2 grains powder of from a 4.5 lb. gun at 1700 fps versus 700 grains using 25.0 grains of powder from a 4.5 lb. gun at 1100 fps.

I'll shoot 'em tomorrow over the chrono. They are a novelty to me, as of now. I'm just appreciate of Tommy sending them, I'm sure he's a member here. Well, I know his son is, indeed a fine gentleman.

Not the be all end all explanation but it's a tool.

when you said come to jebus load i thought you meant you were going for 1800 fps.
when i get anywhere near that in my 45/70 everytime some tries shooting one in that range, that's what they say.
jebus i tink i jus gob a fab lib.[paraphrasing here]
i don't worry about price when it come to guns too much, i have bought some 20.00 guns i wouldn't trade for nothin and have sent back 2-k guns within a week.
i was just commenting on the wally world price falling in line with the top end [higher quality] rifles
you can tell the difference in AR's when you shoot them between something like your colt/my armalite and a 399.oo bushmaster.

    Shot the 700 grainers. . .

AV was on the order of 1100 fps, as I had kind of guessed. I am not really interested in accuracy or lack thereof, just an amusing novelty. Fun.

    Thanks again tek and Tommy.
