Where do you buy Lucas Red & Tacky # 2. I went to their website and did a search for dealers in my area. Got nothing regardless how big an area I indicated. I would have thought something would come up if I searched Memphis, TN.

I went to Amazon but I also found it @ Napa Auto Part Store. I was ordering placing a order at Amazon anyway so just got it there.

I had good results with a tube of Lithium grease I had lying around for 20 years and basically the same with the other stuff in Bens Red of course it isn't red but works. I also had a tube of Molly grease that had been around for 20 years (got them from my dad shop when he passed in '87) still have 10 tubes of grease he was a gather keep everything.

I have my doubts that you'd see any real difference in the lube's performance with the substitution of the Min Wax product.

Go for the Minwax, make the lube and report back. I'd like to know how things work out for you.

try not to get the minwax with the pigment in it.
it works well enough but is a bit gritty when melted.
i make my 45/45/10 tumble lube with jpw and trewax [tried minwax too] mixed 50-50
and like the color better [easier for me to see]
i found a couple of cans of it at the discount store for 99 cents a can and had to try it.

I think the one I am trying to get,is just regular,no pigment.

99c bugger me dead,I'm getting it for $11.15 per can
