Rifle barrel and action dimensions list, info needed.

Hi all, I've been compileing a list of many different rifles and the barrel shank dimensions. Thread size and shank length.
I'll post what I have below, but there are still a few holes. If anyone has info on them, I would appreciate it if you could post it here.
The thought behind the list is to see what takeoff barrels might be useful on different actions.
One thought is it looks like Ruger 77, No.1 and Win-70 barrels might fit the Mosin Nagant and MRC 1999. They are all 1x16 tpi. I don't know how long the shanks are though.

If you know of others that aren't on the list, you could post that also.
    Thanks.

Hi Bug, got it and thanks. There was a bunch of info that I didn't have. I'll have to take some time and merge it into my list.

I've been looking for a list like this for a long time, thanks for posting it. The Browning BPCR and maybe all the Browning 1885's, as quoted to me on the BPCR Board, are .935" outside diameter, shank length is .920" and the threads are 20 per inch with a standard 60 degree form. Very similar to the Winchester 1885 but for the 20 threads per inch instead of 16 per inch in the Winchester.

Were you aware that Frank de Hass' book "Bolt Action Rifles" contains this info in the back section? It covers all of the military and commercial actions reviewed by him in the book, including shank diameter, thread pitch and I believe headspace measurements and rebarreling techniques.

Check out Frank deHaas two books Single Shot Rifles and Actions, 12 page of bbl specs., and Bolt Action Rifles, 10 pages of bbl specs. The NRA Gunsmithing guide has bbl shank specs for 106 different firearms.

    Weatherby Vanguard
    26mm X 1.5mm

S&W 1500, Mossberg 1500, Howa 1500 are probably the same.

The Howa and Weatherby Vanguard have 55 degree threads. I tore a Howa down just to check this out and verify it.

These rifles take a lot of torque to get them apart. I was told by someone at the then Howa importer that they are "spun" together. I didn't try to explore that info with him.
