    Another 22

I bought a Stevens Model 15-A from a friend the other day. He wanted $40 for it. I couldn't get my money out of my pocket fast enough.

Research says this one was made between '48 and '69 as it has a butt plate and 24" barrel.

Without cleaning it, I grabbed a small handfull of CCI golden hollow points, put some pine cones on the 50 yard berm and commenced to check it out. 6 shots down range and 5 pine cones dead.

I got me another 'coon huntin' rifle, fellas!

    Jim,

Is the rear sight dovetailed or is it held on by one large diameter screw? If it is the screw, I would highly recommend using some locktight on it.

My first rifle was/ is a Savage Model 120-A, which is a later version of the 15-A. It will be 38 years old this Christmas.

It's screwed in, Robert. I had to bump the rear sight to the left just a breath and it's fairly tight, so I don't think it's going to work loose. I'll keep an eye on it though. Thanks for the tip on that.
