What press do you use to swage ?

Corbin CSP-2 (his largest hand press) with tooling from all over the place - including my home made stuff....

Has anyone ever swaged on a Redding Ultramag? The leverage and geometry look very similar to the Walnut Hill. Of course given the price difference, I would probably still opt for the Walnut Hill. But if a person needed to save a hundred and fifty bucks, this press looks like the strongest reloading press I have seen, and very suitable for swaging.

Corbin Hydro Press CHP-1. Haven't tried it yet. I also have a copy of ANeat's hand press which I built from plans by UP North. For lead wire extrusion, I have a hydraulic extrusion press half finished.

I went with the Redding Ultra Mag. I’m only swaging .22 caliber bullets, but I sure do like the Ultra Mag. The force required to remove the rims on the rimfire brass surprised me. I’m 70 now, and don’t enjoy the physical exercise as much as I did years ago.

When you can buy a Richard Corbin Sea Girt swage press for $325 or a Walnut Hill 50 that you can swage or reload for anything up to an including 50 BMG for only $550, why fool about with anything less. These are some of the best, if not THE best hand swaging presses you can buy at any price, and with their optimized compound leverage, they make full length resizing magnum big bore calibers for reloading, or case forming operations, as simple as moving your arm up and down.

In addition to the hydro press and A. Neat hand press that I built I forgot to mention I also have a CH Press and dies and half jackets. I will be using the CH press with powder coated cores. Just got back from a road trip to get 150 pounds of pure lead wire and 8000 primers from a seller near Kansas City. I am currently building a swage bench to hold the A. Neat hand press. Once that little bench is done I will start swaging bullets. Really. Yes, I will, gonna do it. When unpacking one of the boxes in the reloading room I discovered a Corbin (probably) core mold with two sets of cylinders. I really want to extrude my own lead wire in the lead extruder I have almost finished making. It seems like it would be way faster than casting cores. The only tool I still need is a lead wire core cutter. Corbin gets $100 for his. Any opinions? How do you prepare core blanks?
