    7.62X39 Rusky Shortskie AMMO

My cousin has an AK47 and came to me (as the family gunnut) looking to buy a large amount of 7.62X39 steelcased blasting ammo. I have no idea where to get such a thing cheap/reasonable as I just buy firecrackers when I want to simply make noise.

Anyone know a place to get a large amount of it reasonably?

    thanks,
    Michael

    What is a large amount?

Try aim surplus or the wolf website.

The older surplus ammo is cheaper, but corrosive.

He is looking for several thousand rounds. Just in case all the old refrigerators, Lp tanks and fords behind his place attack I guess.

    Here's one place Mike.

Notice down the page, $0.22 a round, some at $0.22 1/2. It sure isn't as cheap as it used to be back when men were of iron and ships of wood.

LuckyGunner is awfully proud of that ammo. My local walmart sells Tula for under $5 per 20. At least they did 3 weeks ago.

Try sportsmansguide.com 4.36 a box when you buy 500. That's the best I have seen.

+1 on the above. Sportsmansguide.com usually carries the Yugo corrosive brass cased 122 gn. FMJ. As long as you clean the gun after firing corrosive primers. BC

    Good morning
Sounds like a case where a young feller needs to take up casting and reloading. Could buy an couple 8 pound jugs of 820, a 155 grain Lee Mold and primers. Be blasting happily for far into the future and never wondering about prices again.

A big +1 on that one Mike! Part of the reason I got into casting was the additional trigger time for my buck.

I'm so glad I bought a bunch back when it was cheap! Can't believe the prices on it today.

I have made that offer but to be honest I would not wanna search for brass from that thing either. It really slings it into the next zipcode.
