    Paper Targets

Does anyone out there know the sizes of the Bulleye and subsequent rings on a 100 yard target? I want to make some up for myself and figure I'd use the correct sizes, instead of using my friends, don't know if his is the right size. Hope this made some sense!! Have Fun

A standard SR-1 target, for use at 100 yards, has a bull 6" in diameter (that is, the "9" ring is 6" in diameter). The "10" ring is, I believe, about 3.5" in diameter...and the "X" ring is 1.5" in diameter. I am not absolutely certain of the 10-ring and X-ring dimensions....but I do not have a target handy to measure at the moment...sorry for the estimates, but they should be quite close. The "8" ring (outermost ring) is, I believe, 8" in diameter, as it happens.

The cheapest & easiest way to make a good homemade target is to go buy a 500 count ream of 11" 17" copy paper. Take one sheet and make a solid black 1" circle on it. 1" @ 100 yards - Minute of Angle. From the center of the paper where the black dot is, draw with a ruler and black pen vertical and horizontal lines spaced 1" apart to create a grid of 1" squares that fills the entire paper. You can optionally add a 1" thick black circle 10" from the center to create a bullseye, but I find the dot more than sufficent. You can usually put two dots on the paper, and get twice as much use out of each sheet. After you have created that one master, find a copy machine and just copy the master onto the remaining 499 sheets and you have targets.

    The last time I did that, I paid .06 per sheet/copy for each target. 499 x .06 = $30

A lot of targets for very cheap.....
