    Lyman 356637 HP devastator

Has anyone used this mould and bullets for the 356637 HP in a .38 Special or .357 revolver? I know it is more for a 9mm but I know it can be used for the revolvers too. I have been thinking about buying one (if I can ever find one they don't grow on trees) and before I either find one or have one made I wanted to know how well these work. I am thinking of loading them up to carry around in my little Smith 2-inch .38 Special snubbie in a +P load.
Whatever cannot be remedied, must be endured.

Lyman moulds are know to cast very close to dimension. Unless it was for a python, I wouldn't even bother trying. Get in on the Mihec 359640 group buy if you want some hollows for the J frame.

NOE had a recent buy for a 38 x 130 gr bbhp that looked a lot like the 356637.

+1 on the MP 359-640. You can not buy a better mold. It is a 158 grainer, but I find it ideal for my snubbies, as most of them were originally designed with that boolit weight in mind.

It’s an awesome mold for 38 and 357- plus it’s the most accurate I have for 9mm. Excellent design
. Mine a newer mold and drops them at .359. Easy to size to each caliber.

It's a great mold. But it's painfully slow.

I have two of them and both of them drop right at .357 boolits. Even with two coats of Hi-Tek my NOE .357 sizing bushing barely kisses them.
