    Purple primers?

    Are Fed 215 primers purple?

I have some that I 'discovered' and when looking at the anvil they are covered irregularly in a "purple" something or other.

    Is this normal?

I've not loaded or shot any of these.

I know the older boxes of 210's i have are red, i believe 215's are purple but don't use them in any of our rifles now so i don't remember!

    215's are LR mag primers.
