    really large balls

I am thinking of a building a large diameter pistol for hunting. Something at least 10 gauge or larger. Round ball and must have rifling, it's just my religion, no smoothbores for me. Got to shoot a Howdah in 577 Snider, kicked less than my 475 or 500.
    Any ideas??????????

Yeah. I've got a .725" Dixie ball mould I'd like to make a pistol for. Thought about a Tower style, but percussion, since BP for flints is harder to come by nowadays. Then I got to thinking that an Allen style pepperbox would be really cool. Then I got to thinking about an inline action to fire the bottom barrel instead of the top one, to keep the recoil in line with the hand, using #209 primers centered behind each bore. (Way cheaper than #11 caps.) I sure wish I had the machining skills and equipment to build stuff like this!

Jeff Tanner in the UK does excellent brass round ball moulds to any diameter you want for around £20, no sprue plate so you've got to trim the sprue after casting.

I just got an 8 bore mould for a replical Springfield percussion longarm, it grazes like a cannon ball.
