OT I don't believe this ebay listing!

I have seen many items sold for more than new cost on ebay. This is the first item I have seen that is so far out of reason. Apparently the seller has no clue or was hoping to snare one of the many idiots that also have no clue.

Chech the seller's other items for sale. Look at the shipping costs.

    Unbelievable? Try this one: 250096093832

For almost $3/lb, I'll happily part with some that I have.

Looking at the high bidders previous buys makes me think he's just bought a S&W 500 and is going to cast his own bullets. It'd be nice to clue him in to this board - the man can't be hurtin' for cash, but he could use some advice (maybe).

Yes,idiots sell stuff and idiots buy stuff. I went to a garage sale once and the guy had a Remington and was telling everyone it might be a pre 64. I told him pre 64 was a Winchester factor, but not so a Remington and explained why. He continued telling everyone that. I got my Blue Book and showed him the month and year his rifle was made which was several years post 64. He said the book was wrong,he knew he had the rifle before the date listed and he continued telling people it might be a pre 64. I'm sure the people that knew anything at all about guns were impressed that it might be a pre 64 Remington.

E-Bay gives convincing proof that P.T. Barnum was completely correct.
I don't paint bullets. I like Black Rifle Coffee. Sacred cows are always fair game. California is to the United States what Syria is to Russia and North Korea is to China/South Korea/Japan--a Hermit Kingdom detached from the real world and led by delusional maniacs, an economic and social basket case sustained by "foreign" aid so as to not lose military bases.

    DANG IT!

I recently sold a Dillon 450 press, maybe I should have held out for $900.

Hey, I like it! By these standards, a friend just gave me over $1100 worth of Linotype Friday evening. 400+ pounds of it.

Actually, it's a classic case of "Auction Fever". I've seen dummies so stupid, that had to "win" the auction that a set of used Lee 30-30 dies went for a little over $30. Now, RCBS dies could be had almost anywhere NEW at about $24 (retail) at that time.

What the heck. You can always re-list it if it doesn't sell at an inflated price. I do bid on E-bay, and have got good deals. Just know what stuff goes for and you'll be fine. If you have to have something, you'll pay. I am amazed at not only what stuff is listed for but what folks are willing to bid.

There ws some once fired .30-40 Krag brass a while back, about 130 pieces. went for $55-$60 plus shipping of around $12. The last I bought at the gunshop 2 weeks ago was 15.99 +tax for 50 pcs, around $34.50 out the door for 100 pcs. of new Winchester .30-40 Krag. Unbelievable!!

If he really does have so much other reloading gear, then he's knowingly fleecing anyone cognatively challenged enough to bid. I also love the "like new" description. Check out his other auction, he's a tad steep on the shipping.

I will no longer bid on e-bay auctions that feature "shilling protection."

Please enlighten me - what's "shilling protection?" I know what a shill is - and how unscrupulous auctioneers use them - but how does e-bray "protect" shills?

    Thanks!

Egads! I got an email from Ebay. Some jerk had been using my ID, and was selling cars, mainly, but other assorted items, also. Had to go in, change my password, other fun stuff. I'm going to go re-check that I didn't get screwed over any where.

    Uncle R,

In an attempt to reduce 2nd chance offers from 3rd parties that intend to abscond with the funds, Ebay has chosen to hide the ID's of bidders. Shill bidding is hidden from those who have the most to fear from it, other buyers. Now there is no way to prove or disprove a seller is shilling.

It seems odd that eBay would use the pretext of fraud protection to insure the single most prevalent type of fraud can flourish. If I were a conspiracy theorist I would think shilling would boost their profits.... or maybe reduce their bad press by making shilling unprovable. Hmm.

try to pull up the bid history on this one.

The hole saw set is available on sale at Harbor Freight for $5.00 The guy is obviously a thief judging from his shipping cost.

I sent him a message asking if shipping was via Diplomatic Pouch. Just kidding - but he got a little bent - asked if I ever made a typo. Cheez.

You may have trouble believing this eBay listing even exists, but be sure to log on so you can read all of the 'questions and answers' between the seller and the prospective bidders...

    From the listing:

"Starting price bears no relation to item worth, the market will decide"

He was correct on both counts.

Come on guys - it was a great humorous listing, that's all.

Hope he does it again sometime. I put him on my favorite sellers list.
