I found some data for 357M.
I'm wondering if I can use this for 223 rem. rifle with cast boolits in a bolt action.
does anyone have suggestions at where to start, or where to look for data ?

I have never tried it in rifle loads, but it is darn near THE powder for heavish 45 Colt loads -- about +P or so, but nothing near Casull oomph. I'd rank it as near Blue Dot for performance.
(I've been on almost a one-man crusade trying to get Winchester to bring it back. They really have nothing between W231 and W296, especially as W296 can't be reduced. So far, only polite half smiles.)

my asking this was actually from seeing your post in the BD thread mentioning BD's use in Hornet....I think it was your post ?? and the fact that a 223 project is next on my "to do" list.
but regarding the 630, I don't want to blaze new ground, I'll probably just use it for some 357 mag loads...with heavier boolits.

JonB, my shelves groan with old load manuals. I'll research that for ya.
I used it years ago for 357 mag loads , it worked fine. dont know about rifles in 223
Speer #9 doesn't list W630 with a 180 jacketed, but does show it for a cast 158 SWC. 10.0 to 12.0 gave them 1100 to 1300 fps. (In their rifle section)
Hornady #3 shows a 160-gr jacketed with 12.0 to 14.0 W630 giving 1100 to 1250 fps.
Both show charge weights and velocities very close to 2400 powder in several bullets weights. So in a pinch, you could cautiously use 2400 load data.
It's between old version of BlueDot and 2400. ... felix

Speer #9 with the 45 Colt it's nose to nose with 2400
On some burn rate charts it's just below AA #9.
Some older Lyman manuals have it listed for cast loads. The first handgun manual IIRC. As mentioned it was shown to be faster than 2400.
Resurrecting this thread to see if anyone has any published cast bullet data for 218 Bee (i.e. from an older manual). I'm especially interested in W630 data, but would welcome any data for cast. Thanks
The Lyman casting Manual lists 630 with a 55gr . Starting load is 10gr and max is 12.5gr. I load a 55gr jacketed bullet with 11gr and achieve a velocity of 2075 in a 20in barrel.
