hawthorne 110/Savage SB100B rebarrel/reline

I am about to trade an H&R Topper 12 gauge SS, for a 410 SS Hawthorne 110/Savage SB100B + some cash. The Savage/Hawthorne has an internal hammer, and tang safety. I am looking at either relining to 32 H&R or 38 special for a rook rifle. Anybody have any experience on doing this and would be willing to help me in the process? 38 special has the advantage of exceedingly cheaper and common brass, but I do have a large supply of cast 30 caliber bullets from 94 grain to 200 grain. I would just need to get brass and dies (unless my 7.62x38 Nagant dies could be used). I would obviously need to borrow/rent a chamber reamer and find either a barrel to turn down, or a liner for either.

Ideas, suggestions, of generally a bad idea?

The last one I did I cut the barrel off and used the rear as a mono block, threading it to except a new barrel. The liner for a 32 is .5 diameter and it would need to be turned down or the barrel reamed out. Shotgun barrels will sometimes warp when reaming. Turning down a skinny liner is not much fun. A new barrel allows you to leave some weight in the barrel so it is a little stiffer.
Or you could make a new block and have a two barrel gun.

I really need to measure the OD of the barrel along the block.
Any question of safety (pressure wise) if I did the same thing with 38 special?

The 38 cal would work if it had some support at the chamber end for several inches, I would try for 6".
