    The TIKKA makeover...

OK, so the last time I went to the range I broke the bottom of my Tikka T3 Lite .308 Winchester rifle stock. Don't ask me how, it was totally my fault. But let's just say it was not combat worthy.

I called Beretta, who manages the Tikka rifle line, and the representative told me to ship the rifle to one of their service centers. The center would then evaluate the damage and make a decision whether it would be covered by the warranty or if I would have to pay for it. Let's just say that I did not want to gamble and possibly end up paying for a replacement stock AND SHIPPING.

I began doing some research and I decided to go with a Bell & Carlson Medalist (tan with black webbing) rifle stock. Only took two days to receive it! (I had also ordered a Apex after market Sear for my M&P 45 and that is in the pics). AND the rifle stock is truly free-floating unlike the original stock!

    Broken stock:

My younger son, Blaine, models for the new stock

    How do you spell satisfaction???

    Looks great.

Nice job. I'm curious did it add any weight, and if so how much. My Tikka T3 lite in .270 weighs 6 pounds 3 ounces, and I only bought it because of the light weight as it is my Mountain rifle, and I do back pack into some small hills. Dennis

I finally got to the range today. The new stock is awesome and the rifle is more accurate than I am. This is at 100 yds @ 2788 FPS with 165gr SST, 46.4 gr of Varget, WLR primers, Lapua brass, OAL 2.755
The temperature: 68 degrees, Wind: 8 MPH, barometer: ?.

    Cartridge Prep:
-cleaned, trimmed and verified case lengths 2.002-2.006
    -de-burred case necks
    -cleaned primer holes
    -individually measured powder amounts
-Used the Hornady LNL Concentricity tool to verify and/or correct bullet concentricity (+/- .001")
