I have two 336s in 35 Remy, I use the Ranch Dog molds to cast my boolets. I just followed the method Michael set up to create the best cast bullets for the 336 lever guns.

    http://www.ranchdogoutdoors.com/

TLC359-190-RF is one of the best bullets that I have put thru my Marlin, this year I bagged 3 deer this season all were at medium ranges from 60 to 90 yards.

I own the 2c and 6c versions of this mold.

My lube is Xlox from the White Lube people, http://www.lsstuff.com/lube/index.html and I still using Gator Checks from a buy we did on the forum.

Or you buy a hundred from this place to try them out: http://www.carolinacastbullets.com/R..._Outdoors.html

I use RD cast boolets in my 4 336s in 30-30, my T/C Contender Super 14 in 30-30. My 2 336 in 35 Remy, my Marlin 444, as well as my C/T Contenders in 44 Mag and Marlin 444. Plus my pride and joy, my 1895 in 45-70.

The RD bullets work well for me in all of my marlins and my Contenders.

    Hope this helps,

    Jerry

Contact Steve Johnson at the Gas Check Store http://www.thegascheckstore.com/ He offers aluminum checks in .35 $10 for a 200 sample pack or 15 bucks for 500.

Is this a decent price on new .35 Remmy brass?

I have been buy once fired 35 Remmy off of gunbroker.com. New brass is getting too pricey these days.

Hey Dan, Why would you want to pay $23 per thousand for aluminum gaschecks when midway sells 1000 copper gaschecks for $26.99? And, Hornady gaschecks have the advantage of that cool rim that grips the base of the boolit.

Well, it goes like this, If I buy from Midway, the freight is 13 bucks or so which makes the $23 checks pretty spendy; that is if they are in stock. From Steve Johnson, the price is delivered. As far as the check sticking to the base of the bullet, I don't think you will pry his aluminum checks or Hornady's off without damage to the bullet. They are really on there. Accuracy wise, I can not tell any difference. So I will keep the cool rims for my 67 Chevy -------dump truck

I've never used aluminum checks, but at $56/3000, that's a significant price break from Hornady checks. I'm going to have to do a little more research, but that sounds like a pretty good deal to me.

They work just as well, I just have had problems with homemade ones coming off the base of the boolit. I have preferred the copper ones because they have the raised edge that bites into the boolit. In my mind, (cloudy I know) I figure that anytime stuff comes off in flight it causes accuracy problems. It either needs to shed at the muzzle or stay on all the way to the target. The aluminum ones I tested, some got to the target with the check still attached, and some didn't.
I have been made aware that it shouldn't make any difference whatsoever but old superstitions die hard.
OK, FINE, I LIKE THE WAY THEY LOOK! THEY'RE PRETTY AND COOL LOOKING AND I LIKE SHINY STUFF ON MY BOOLITS! EVEN IF ITS INSIDE THE CASE DARN IT!
    There I said it.
Truth is, they are probably just fine and work no better or worse.

Is $32 for 100pcs of once fired .35 Rem brass too high of a price? All are Remington headstamp.

Well, I would grab 'em if thats your only holdup. It beats the heck out of buying loaded factory ammo and shooting it for the brass.

Don't forget Blammer off the forum for gas checks. He is around $20 /1000 for .35 cal. I got some a while ago and they are at least as good as Hornady. We pay up to $75/1000 for Hornady here in Australia and I got 6000 various from Blammer for $136 delivered.
