    J.C. Higgins 29, 30, & 31

These are some fine auto .22's. Made by High Standard to sell as J.C. Higgins brand, if I am not mistaken. My brother bought a model 30 in 1960 which I inherited after his death. Just sat in the closet for 15 years, until I decided to do something with it. Took it out and was amazed at the accuracy!! Put a little 4X cheapo scope on it, and took out squirrel. Nothing but head shots at >50 yards. Acquired another as a parts gun. Got it back in action and it is just as accurate. I have read where Winchester and others made guns for J.C. Higgins brand back in the '40's and '50's. Some good guns out there disguised as J.C. Higgins. Most people are catching on now. These guns are pushing up in price, depending on what it is.
