    Well I found that I was cutting the notebook paper the wrong way. The trace paper was cut correctly. Does it look like I'm patching far enough ahead on the nose of the two 405 gr. boolits? Or does it matter? If I set the patched boolit in the muzzle the naked part hits the rifling not the patch.

    Not according to your results. If it ain't broke don't fix it! Who says it's the wrong way anyhow? OK I know - it was me! So I was wrong. See, it the grain runs in-line with the boolit it might just fragment easier at the muzzle. Sure, if the grain runs cross-ways it'll pull up tighter but it looks like that might just be a moot point. We've always just accepted that the grain should be one way. But should it really?
