Please put me down for a .311, 5-cavity, all GC. Have several .30 cal. rifles (a number of them old M99s, no mystery there) that are just waiting for this boolit.

    Thanks,

    Jess

I am casting for four Springfield 1903s and a newly aquired Mosin Magant 91/30.

I have made soft lead casts of the barrel and throat of each rifle. My current molds will fill the ball seat with no problem. But the ogive shows no sign of touching the throat when the front drive band is into the lands. The long nose portion just hangs out there unsupported.

I've done a lot of experimenting this past week with Beagled moulds. Looks like the nose of this bullet should fit snugly on top of the lands just in front of the leade. One or maybe two drive bands should fit against the throat for support. And, the back of the bullet should seal the barrel.

    Sounds like "just the ticket".

Please put me down for a .311 4 cavity all GC

    Thanks.

I sold my rifle so I will have to withdraw from this group buy. Please remove my name from the list (#21).

Count me in for a .311 GC 2 cavity mold if this buy is still open.

    Thank you.

Yes it will size down OK. If I am sizing down more than a couple of thou then I like to lube the boolit first in a die just over cast size and then resize.

Helps keep the integrity of the lube groove(s).

I'm interested in this boolit for one or both of my .308 bolt rifles. Why do the bands taper progressively toward the base?

As I take it, they taper like that for firearms with short throats.. so you can still use this bullet if you have to seat them longer..

    Swede,

Please add a 2 cavity @ .311 for me. I know this design is very good in a lot of 30 cal. rifles. Thanks,
