Nice Jim, I casted my mold today and its a little finicky about temperature. Once I got the right rythm she did great! Mine will go in both 30-30 and .308.

    Hi Lefty,

Just curious, have you also drilled out your sprue plate? I haven't been able to cast with mine yet due to winter's return here in CT. Also when you drill them out, do you use a countersink to clean up the hole?

    Thanks, Longone

This is the only NOE mold I have I'm able to use without having to drill them out. I will be drilling this one this coming week. I do use a countersink to touch up the holes or rather sharpen the bottom of the hole where the plate actually cuts the sprue.
I enjoy my NOE molds and plan on buying more. I don't mind working, tuning, tweaking my molds, but I'd also like to see the holes opened up to .187" (3/16).
I had one mold that every cavity I'd pour the flow would jump right back out when it was full. It looked like a little gyser of lead. Once I opened up the holes it was much easier to use.

The Alliant 2004 Reloader’s Guide is available on line at:
    http://glarp.atk.com/2004/2004Catalo...ntPowderSM.pdf

used to be that they included Cowboy and Silhouette data in the Guide

anyway; Unique, BlueDot, 2400 and Reloader-7 load data is shown, along with pressure data for the 30-30

I usually shoot Herco, with plain base boolits under 1500 fps. otherwise leading rears it’s ugly head.

also, I have shoot a lot of BlueDot rifle loads over the years.

And after a thread on Alliant Steel I’m thinking of burning up a can that I’ve got sitting around

Alliant’s 2004 Reloader’s Guide pg 55 has some reloading tip to be cognizant of and pg 56 reminds reloader to start 10% low and work up to the published loads
    God Bless ya'll

I got my 4 cavity mold in 2 pb 2 gc. I am going to try to develop a 30-30 with PB using unique, red dot or 2400.

Anyone already worked up a PB load in 30-30?
