Master caster machine, what are your recommended moulds?

What are your recommended moulds to order with the Master Caster Machine order? I just Bullseye target shoot, Combat practice, and plink? I do not hunt?

    For the following calibers:

    38Special/357Mag
    44Special/44Mag
    45ACP
    45LC

    Thanks

Don't you need to order Magma Molds?

Nope. It takes about 5 minutes to alter a Lyman mould for use on the Master Caster. Pull or sand/grind off the sprue plate stop pin, drill the sprue plate bolt hole to the right size and all the way through the length of the block and you're done. You do need the right size guides, but I've made my own there as well.

For anyone who is having trouble with shoulder joints and carpal tunnel syndrome, the Master Caster is well worth the money. I shoot comeptetively and it's made the difference between being able to continue to compete or needing to decide to bow out.

    Regards,
    Timbo

Can another manufacturers molds be modified to mount on and work(besides Lyman)on the "MASTER CASTER" machine, not the Master Pot, from Magma Engineering?

Unless you already have the molds to convert and the tools to make the parts needed I don't see any reason to bother with it....Magma designs work just fine.

yes, I've tossed a couple RCBS in the mill and modified them to use Magma hardware I had.
But KYcaster is pretty closes to right unless there's a mold you just got cast with

I have no molds, so it looks like I'll order Magma Molds with the machine when I order it after the first of the year. I'm kinda designing a bench for it and buying all the other assorted equipment from safety to different PB ingots, skimmers, flux, ingot molds, a Jet Burner for smelting.

I've been doing a TON of reading and Video watching.

Great info sure is available here, Thanks guys.

Moonman - Yes !! Retirement is great. I'm doing a lot more casting/loading/shooting than I was able to before. Sounds like you plan to do a lot...enjoy.

I've got both magma and converted ideal, lyman, and rcbs

the magma folks in the mold shop are great on conversions but its cheaper to just buy their molds if you don't already have a favorite two cavity mold
I'm with Timbo on the saving the joints with my magma.

I'm looking at saving my joints, the costs are not an issue, and I'm lazy. I like the temperature control deal, the fact that it seems to get a 99% good bullet ratio, sitting down, and a large pot, all that works for me.

Coupling that to a Star Lube machine and it looks like it will be fun. I plan on equipping the Star with Air, Heat, Bullet Feed (I don't want to even think about getting out of Rhythm and having a thumb or finger near the punch hole).
