I know this is a forum for reloading shotguns but I have a quick question. Anybody have a Browning 42? I picked one up yesterday just because my Grandpa had a Winchester 42

I have one. It's a pretty nice little shotgun. However, I have some troubles getting Remington 3" cases to eject all the way so have to trim off about 1/16" of the hull. Aside from that, I like it alot.

I've shot alot of clay pigeons with that thing and really like the little longer reach of the 3" shells. My shooting buddy has a Mossberg pump and it is a pretty dependable little shotgun.

I would think the Remington 870 is about the best buy for the money though as it has a machined receiver.

The Browning 42 is sure a pretty little shotgun with that nice shiny blue job they put on it and the fancy little hunks of walnut for the stocks.

Mine came with a screw in choke but don't know if it is a Browning choke or not. All it says is "full" and the threads are more or less squarish in contour.
