    Die Blanks

Has anyone ever used these die blanks before. Ive used 7/8" all thread to make a few dies before, but just curious about the product below.

    Thanks

I get 3'' grade 8 7/8''-14 bolts from a local bolt supplier for a lot cheaper.

I tried that and made a decapping die. The thread OD are too big and it has been a bear to screw into or out of any press I own. Have you encountered that?

I have found them a little oversized but a few passes with a file while it is in the lathe solves the problem.

I've used the die blanks form Midway, and been very pleased with the results. I've used all-thread and had mixed results - some good, some not.

7/8x14 is a very common size for heavy truck spring "U" bolts. Most shops will give you used ones or buy a short new one before they bend it.Its good steel and workable, with a long threaded section. Frank C.
