    2400

I looked but didn't see, is there a surplus powder to equal Alliant 2400?

Some of the WC820 is close. Some WC820 is like AA9.

WC820 is $100 for #8 at gibrass, while 2400 is $110 here in Phoenix at Bruno's for #8. With the $25 hazmat plus shipping the surplus is way more money than canister.

Yeah, I found that after I went on line and looked, Leadman. Thanks for answering though. Sure wish the prices were not so high anymore.

You're better off buying an eight pounder of 2400 from Graf, especially if you can find someone to split the Haz-Mat. Pull-Down WC-820 is going for $100/8#'er, while an eight pound jug of 2400 from Graf is $114 + about $5 s&h.

Take a look at AA #9 before you buy 2400. It's exactly the same quickness, and has been giving me much better SD's across the old Chrony, and tighter groups, too.

There ya go... that's a good idea... #9 is a little more money than 2400 though. Nine is also a powder measurer's dream.

IMHO most surplus powders are currently significantly overpriced. By the time you pay HAZMAT, they're typically just as expensive as canister powders, or very nearly so.

There are some exceptions, of course, like the powders that Wideners currently has for $49 for 8 pounds, but they're not very versatile, either.
