Need Help with 311359 for SKS

I am trying out some different bullets for a Yugo,Chinese SKS I have a Lyman 311359 but after searching other posts I find that mine throws heavy at 132 grain, and have seen where others report 115 to 120 range is there something wrong with my WW mix? And where to start as this is a plain base bullet and just want a plinker round, and maybe small varmit

Sounds more like 311410 to me. 311359 is a GC mould.

Now I will have to go and check the moulds again because I have both. Is one better than the other. and are they the same weight?

I used the 311410 extensively in an M! carbine with near full loads of 2400 and H110 never had any leading and it shot well too. I suspect that a load that fires this bullet at around 1600 with a powder like AA1680 will function an SKS and shoot well too.

The several 311359s I've used most often run 115 to 120 gr depending on WW alloy. The 311410 runs from the high 120s to the low 130s as you've found.

Well I learned something new again. I did load some of them up at 8.5 grain Unique but have not had a chance to use them yet. They are just air colled and now I think I might want to water quence the next batch. This will make shooting the SKS cheap to shoot
