    First boolits cast, now what?

Yes I know I need to lube and put the gas checks on ,but in what order do I do that? BTW they truned out better than what I was expecting for my first go at it,and they dropped at .312+ so I dont need to size them.
I plan on pan lubing them and have the general idea of it from reading old posts But Is one certian kind of lube formula better for pan lubing than others? I plan on making some up from the wax from the wax toilet rings and some vasoline and see what happens for my frist try at lube, Or is that combo a bad Idea????

Nextly is the gas check issue,I ordered some yesterday but since I dont plan on sizing the boolits how do I seat the things? I was thinking about just placing them on the boolit base with my fingers and then put the boolit on something sturdy and flat and giving the nose a slight tap with small hammer or other beating device, will this work or how do I skin this cat?.................RU

Put the checks on first and run them just far enough in a size die to crimp them on.
I would not fool with that lube you are thinking about, just make Felix lube or buy some lube from Lar45. I rub the Felix lube in the grooves with my finger and run through an oversize die to remove excess. I am not sure it will melt good for pan lubing. Ask Felix. But those lubes give me the best accuracy and zero leading.
That toilet wax might contain all kinds of stuff and you never know if it is the same from time to time.
You could put up a real stink by using old used ones!

    !
But how would it crip them on if I use a oversized sizer die? wouldnt it just push the boolit right up through it without resistance ? maybe I just dont understand how these dies work. I would hate to buy a size die if the boolits dont even need sized , So theres no other way to seat a gas check?

And another lube ? where is bees wax sold? I dont see it anywhere I normally shop ? And I have read reference to "Johnsons Paste Wax" what is this stuff? is it car wax wood furniture wax, or Something else?.....................RU

Use the same size die the boolits cast at even if you have to lap it out. Lee size dies are cheap and it is easy to lap them. You can find beeswax at any place that makes honey. http://www.from-nature-with-love.com...xyellbeeshttp: //www.waxhouse.com./catalog/wax/wax.html. Here are two places but they are expensive. I am sure you can find some locally.
Lar sells lube so cheap. I don't know how he does it. His is a labor of love and he is one great guy.

    RU,

Pan lubing is a repetitive process where there is a tendency to have to refresh the lube portion as you reheat it time and again. Your simple lube of wax and vasoline will work. I would prefer Bees wax to toilet bowel rings, but to each his own. Just mix it long enough so that you get a consistent, workable viscocity.

Once you get some GCs, you will realize your problem of what you are asking. Then you will understand why a die of some sort, needs to be used. But it works better if you put the check on first and then lube.
