    11.15x58 vs .43 Spainish

Can anyone tell me if the 11.15 Werndl cartridge and the .43 Spanish are interchangeable?

I have option on .43 dieset but a Werndl chambered rifle.

Is any difference only in the shoulder length ?
I can't find dimensions for either cartridge....

    Thanks

Only special die part I have for my 11.15 werndl is a #17 LEE shellholder cut deep and sold by Track Wolf.

I can't find any real or authoritative dimensions either. I suppose it is because the cartridges were designed before SAAMI was around. I have no experience with the Werndl but really enjoy shooting and reloading for the .43 Spanish.

I don't have samples of the 11.15x58R Spanish and the 11.15 x 58R Werndle in front of me to compare.

Cartridges of the World 3rd Edition has pictures to compare. The Werndle looks a lot longer in the neck dimension, although black powder capacities and muzzle velocities are very similar.

If your rifle came with .43 Spanish reloading dies, there is the possibility that it was rechambered to take the more readily available cases and ammunition. As noted in COTW, the 11.15 Werndle chambering is rare.

    11.15x58 Vs. 43 spanish

I bought a rolling block at gun show and was told it was 43 spanish which it was'nt. I made mold of barrel and sent it to RCBS. They got back to me and advised I had a 11.15x58 werndal. I had them make a die set for this round and was told by them to use 43 spanish cases and with this die set reform the case to fit the rifle. It works perfect. I use a .439 cast bullet from Buffalo bullets out of Montana.
    Hope this helps

    quentin,
The 43 Spanish Rem (11.15x58R) and the Werndl M77 (11.15x58R) are WAY different. Barnes' COTW has the specs for both.
