Graf and Sons had a lot of VV powders in stock just a few weeks ago. I loaded up on over 40lbs of N320, 3N38, N110... I think im good for a while.

    and probably on a watchlist...
    Hi Meatpuppet!
I have just bought the equivalent of 8 pound jug of vv n110 to get some cast and jacketed loads for my 357 maximum tc encore rifle. Do you have any good loads to share? As always, I start at the low end and work my way up in my loads and I will take the responsibility of my loads.
    Thank you.

I worked up a load of VV N110 for 357mag 158gr SWC, I like it better than most other powders that I've used for near max loads for 357mag.

My two most accurate 16" barrel length "hunting" loads are below. These projectiles are swaged in BT Sniper's dies using an annealed 9mm case as the jacket. Ive never loaded/shot a commercial projectile through my 357 Maximums. All of my barrels are Match Grade Machine made, with long throats.

    153gr JHP / VV N110 - 21gr / 2.10 oal / Chrono 2050fps - 1428 ft-lbs / Well under Max SAMMI Pressure
    182gr JHP / VV N110 - 22gr / 2.20 oal / Chrono 1964fps - 1559 ft-lbs (Safe in my custom chambered Contender barrel) I would not exceed 19gr in a chamber that only allowed a 2.1 oal.

If you read some of the articles by Mike Belm on the 357 Max, he explains how the Contender can handle pressures up to 55,000 psi. According to Quickload, my 182gr load exceeds 40,000 psi, but below 50,000 psi. The primers look fine and breach opening and extraction are normal. I simply stopped when I found an accurate load with lots of energy remaining at 150 yards. Most of my 357 Max shooting is with 300gr subsonic loads. Interstingly, Quickload tends to be overly optomistic when estimating load data for my other calibers, but is pretty spot on with 357 Maximum.

Plus one on V V powders. I have a friend that worships them, and got me to using a couple of them.
N110 and N105 both work great in my 44 Redhawk.
If the load data, and velocity from their web site is accurate, you can get some amazing velocity out of V V 105 in a 44 Mag.
One of those times when I wished I had a Chronograph to check the speed.
So far I think its the best 44 mad that I have ever used. I was a 2400 and a 4227 guy before, but the V V 105 works better for me.
