    Castpics Load Database

Castpics now has a searchable load database for cast boolit loads.

and the cool thing is you can search by cartridge and mold #.

enter 30-30 and 311291 and change the radio button to all words.

You get all the 30-30 data using the 311291.

I think this is a first in online data.

    http://castpics.net/subsite2/LoadLookup/default.html

    6400+ loads and growing.

If you haven't tried it yet, help me stress test it by looking up a load or two

I can not see how to search this. Using Firefox. No links, no search box. Am I missing something?

Got it now. The Look Up Load link was not there when I was checking it.

Searched for ".223" cartridge with "50" bullet weight & got no results.

Changed from .223 to 223 & got results for the Lyman 225415. 6 sets of results came up. There were 3 different listings, each of which came up twice.

I did a search for 50 grain bullets. The usual .22 cal stuff came up, then on page 3, I saw data for a 50 grain "500 Rushmore RN Lead" bullet in a 45/70 Govt cartridge. Is that correct? Is there a 50 grain bullet that you can load in a .45-70? I've seen sabot loads with ring bullets for a .45-70 before that were pretty lite, but I never saw one that was only 50 grains. Page 4 had some similar strangeness.

Thanks, that was a 500gr bullet, not a 50. Got those updated.

Is this something anyone can add to? Where do the loads come from? Just curious.

The loads are from one of the old Ideal manuals, the rcbs cast manual, and all the powder company manuals.

Load data can be added, but I prune stuff from questionable sources so please document where you got it.

Just took a quick peek. It looks very interesting. As you know I'm a beginner with this computer stuff and will probably take a little while to figure out. Though it is in the ole defragmented noodle. One subject though, if you could incorporate the Accurate Powder line. Also, are the pressures that are available, are they cup or psi?

For the most part pressures are listed as PSI - those that are cup are marked as such.
