A “Happy Coincidence” for those of you who shoot “The Black Gun”!

I shoot a lot of 5.56mm out of several “Frankenguns” I have built out of miscellaneous parts.

One of the problems I have had to deal with is the practical packaging of “Ready Ammo”.

It turns out that regular, plain, old 2 ¾” 12 gauge boxes are the PERFECT size for holding 120 rounds of 5.56mm in stripper clips!!

….And once they are painted a nice, neutral color, …..It even looks like you know what you are doing!!

Just another suggestion from "The King Of The Cheap"!!!

    Good morning
That is very nice... simple... and cheap way to segregate brass to specific tools of the trade.

I think its a great Ideal. I have tried several ways to store my 5.56 and that looks like the trick right there. Heck that should be made into a sticky.

To learn something new, read an old book.

Not to belittle your discovery, but Phil Sharpe mentioned this excellent device in his classic book on reloading (which is available free on the internet).

Although, Phil didn't paint his boxes.

I don't own or shoot the plastic rifles, but I DO like neat organization. Very good idea sir!

Great Idea, I will start using that on bulk pistol bullets , sure beats the plastic bags that I use , especially if I can get the boxes for free.

And if you turn the boxes inside out, you won't have to paint them.

Hmm. Now I've got to go find a similar box that will hold 40 or 50 or 60 (or more) of 7.62x54R on strippers. It'll be a bit bigger box, of course...
