Who makes about the best coon squaller on the market?
I really don't know who makes the best, but I've got a Olt brand squaller that I've had for years. It has many times got a coon to move or look toward the light so you can see him better. I don't coon hunt anymore, because my Walker is getting old and has kinda lost her mind.

I thought you were going to say it( your walker) was hard to push.
I was going to offer you a new one as you never get to old to coon hunt.
I surly do miss it living here in California.

I don't think there is much difference between the makers- they all use the same reeds from the same manufacturer these days. Most offerings are closed reeds, IIRC. Can't remember seeing an open reed version. How they are tuned is the only real difference. Get one you like the looks of and for how it holds and carries, and you'll be happier.
My uncle had one that he swore by, but I can't remember what brand it was. I do remember him saying he got it from Bill Boatman. That ought to tell you when he bought it, and how long he had it.
